The pupils ,teachers and parents of the school were delighted to welcome Sergeant Kevin Flanagan and Private Maguire of the Irish Defense Forces to the school on Tuesday ,September 15th. The purpose of their visit was to present a national flag and a copy of the 1916 proclamation as part of the Easter Rising 1916 Centenary Celebrations. Sergeant Flanagan gave the children a short history of the rising and read the proclamation. Private Maguire then presented the school with their flag and copy of the proclamation. As part of the project the school will devise their own vision for Ireland in the next hundred years .the flag will be raised at the front of the school on Proclamation day,March 15th 2016
